Picking the right color contacts

Finding the perfect colored contacts for each person is going to vary. It depends on a lot of factors such as likes/dislikes, color of their eyes, whether or not they need vision correction, if they have worn contacts before, and what they want the colored contacts for. If you have dark eyes, going with the darker contacts will usually do a better job. I don’t mean darker contacts in the sense of colors, but more of tint. It really helps if you know someone that has the same colored eyes as you, or close, and if they have used colored contacts before. You can find pretty decent charts online of the different shades and how they will affect your eye color.

Going with blue contacts or green contacts would be the most common route, but during the Halloween season and before it, you will find that the colors of unusual shades really get a lot more popular. If you want to be a perfect vampire then no doubt will having awesome black or silver contacts would make a huge difference. It’s not that hard to match up with your favorite movie character, whether or not you will decide to use them for good or evil if up to you however!

Ultimately, most people just buy a pair after a little research and live and learn. This isn’t the best system, but it’s definitely a fairly quick way to find out what you like, and you might get lucky and your first pair is perfect. If you are going for extended wear, every day green or blue contacts, you might have to try a few times. They usually don’t do returns so make sure you at least get some use out of them.

Various Colored Contacts

I’ve heard the same thing about colored contacts from a lot of people. They decide for whatever reason that they want to start using colored contacts and they just delve in, buy the first or second pair they run across and then ultimately end up realizing that was probably a mistake. What happens is that they don’t take into consideration the different factors that you really need to if you are going to get colored contacts for your eyes.

First off, you should understand that there are different styles of colored contacts and that they aren’t all created equal. You might want colored contacts for every day use, you might have a prescription, maybe you are just wearing them once for a costume party, or a couple nights for Halloween. Whatever the reason, you can find the right colored contacts, you just need to make sure that they are going to be what you need.

There are three basics styles of colored contacts, but only really two of them are going to be covered in my blog. The reason the first style won’t be talked about, at least in much detail is because it’s only colored because it makes it easier to see. It doesn’t really change the look of your eye, at least noticeably and it is actually good for finding and putting them in. Losing contacts can be dangerous and expensive, and just plain annoying as well.

The first main type of colored contact will be for every day use, and not to stand out like you are wearing a contact. It’s going to tint your eyes green, blue or other natural colors so that you can change your normal eye color for something more effective. Many people who have brown eyes want colored eyes, maybe not every day, but maybe just for a change. You can find extended wear green contact lenses, or blue contact lenses and even get them with a prescription so they can act just like your standard contacts, but will also change your eye color for something new.

You can find colored contacts for dark eyes but you need to make sure they are specifically for darker eyes, because with darker eyes the basic fact is that it’s going to be more difficult to get that color change so you will need to go with darker tints and make sure you do your research. If you know anyone with the same color eye it’s a good idea to ask them what kind they got and see how they like it.

The other style of colored contact is for show, basically theatrical and sclera contacts cover your entire eye, and it doesn’t usually matter what color your natural eye color is.

You can get the right kind of contact for whatever eye color and they come in virtually any style or color you can dream of. If you want to get a colored contact lens to copy a famous monster or character those are going to be the contacts that change your appearance drastically, not just tinted.

You can find red, yellow, orange, silver, white, black, combinations of those and many different shapes. These types of contacts are colored for show and for costume effects mostly, and for good reason, they really do spice up your costume to another level.

Black contact lenses are great for evil characters, while brown contact lenses are better for a more natural look.
